چکیده
10 A new UNIQUAC based predictive local composition model is here compared against predictive Wilson and predictive modified UNIQUAC on their abilities to predict wax formation. For that purpose a very large database of phase equilibrium data of both synthetic and real hydrocarbon fluids, at both low and high pressures, will be used. It is shown that the new UNIQUAC model does not suffer from the limitations, or is much l s 11 12 13 14 15 © 16

Wax formation in hydrocarbon fluids at low temperatures is one of the harassing problems faced by the petroleum industry. The prevention of wax formation, the production of diesels more resistant at low temperatures and the design of new and better additives requires a good understanding of the crystallisation behaviour of the paraffin molecules. Better experimental techniques to study the wax ...

A predictive version of the UNIQUAC model is proposed for the description of the nonideality of paraffinic solid solutions. With this model, and using only pure component properties, is possible to adequately predict the phase behavior of complex hydrocarbon mixtures. Both liquid and solid phase compositions as well as the fraction of crystals in a partly frozen solution show a good agreement w...
متن کاملA New Correlation for Prediction of Wax Disappearance Temperature of Hydrocarbon Mixtures at Various Pressures
Wax precipitate is one of the most serious issues the oil industry is currently facing, since it can cause some troubles such as increasing of the pressure losses in pipe which subsequently increases the required power for pumpage. To remove this problem, prediction of wax disappearance temperature (WDT) seems necessary. In this study, the pressure influence on the wax disappearance temperatu...

Heavy organics deposition is a common problem in oil industry, especially in oil production, transportation and processing. Wax or solid paraffin series are examples of heavy organics that deposit. Precipitation and crystallization of wax causes major difficulties in different processes. Based on multi-solid theory, a basic model is modified in this paper for wax precipitation in different oils...
